Our set-up in McCarthy is fantastic thanks to the generousity of McCarthy-Kennicott History Museum and Wrangell Mountain Air. Through volunteering at the Museum, we have a lovely cabin equiped with a two-burner propane stove, a propane heater, a queen-size futon, small love seat, loft, two small dressers, a countertop, table and two chairs, and all necessary cookwear. Through Austin's work at Wrangell Mountain Air, we have access to their crew house amenities: shelf space for dry goods, deep freezer, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and shower. Whew! We've got it made!
Today is laundry day, and what a beautiful day to be working outside. Yesterday was my birthday and Austin gave me packets of seeds and a beautiful hanging plant for the front porch. I'm attaching a photo of the clothes line from this morning; you may be able to see one of the many surrounding mountains in the background. I'll try to attach a few more photos...however, the internet's a bit slow.
